Last week we got a special package in the mail from our friends over at QALO (pronounced KAY-LO), and we couldn't be more excited!  If you are visiting us from Pretty New, you know of our special obsession with jewelry.  Even in the past we’ve mentioned the struggle of not being able to wear rings at the gym, and therefore rocking some pretty stylish nail polish instead.  Well those days are over thanks to the QALO Ring!

We first heard about the QALO wedding rings earlier this year from some friends who are all CrossFitters and work in Fire, Law Enforcement and health services.  One of my very best friends was about to get married and had purchased a pink silicone wedding band… interesting right?  Well it turns out she had purchased a QALO!  Not only does she wear it for CrossFit workouts and her career as an ER nurse, but she also wore it for their honeymoon so she could not lose her new band and engagement ring (below)!  So smart!  Why worry on your honeymoon right?
While I am not currently attached or in need of a wedding band, I do LOVE to wear rings, and for a girly girl at the gym, I still want to wear them.  I’ve been rocking my pink and/or teal QALO for about two weeks now, and I absolutely love them.  They are incredibly comfortable to wear, and easy to workout with.  Obviously the feeling of something on your finger won't completely go away, but you don't have to worry about pinching your skin on a barbell or pull up bar. I can’t even begin to tell you how many people are quickly jumping on this trend, especially in the CrossFit world.
But, there are so many other uses for them.  Here are just a few of the ideas I came up with (or I stole from someone else!):
-Jimmy Fallon (sorry couldn’t help it! and QALO actually came up with that one on their Instagram)
-Firefighters
-Law Enforcement
-Military
-Construction
-Vacations (especially to shady locations! J)
-Surfers (any sport really, but most you don’t have to worry about losing things in the ocean!)
-Working Out
-Music Festivals (or other events where you might get a little out of control!)
-Camping/Hiking (I wore it to a beach party this week and didn’t have to worry about it!)
Really I’m not sure why you would ever buy a regular ring now, just propose with a QALO, enter grinning emoji.  Just kidding, but really, there are so many practical times to wear the QALO ring.

QALO Rings come in a variety of different styles for men and women.  Some have cute little designs like hearts or kettlebells, some have a band of color down the middle, and you can even purchase ‘collections’ so you have more than one to wear.  The one I want most is actually the Barbells for Boobs one that is currently sold out.  It is black with pink glitter!  OMG totally my style.  I do recommend going up a size as they also mention on the website.  You don’t want to trap moisture between the ring and your finger and suddenly have a wrinkle ring.  They also offer some pretty cute clothing, so be sure to check that out when you are buying your rings!

After getting married we realized what a nuisance wearing our traditional wedding band was. While we love our wives, and love being married, the reality was that our ring was getting in the way (literally) of our active lifestyle. The married men we talked with shared the same frustrations.
